In BLOCK PNTHR , the panther’s spots are replaced with an 8-pointed star, a symbol of hope in many cultures and regions of the world. During the exhibition, panther is spot lit, casting a shadow on the wall. As light shines through, the stars are brightly lit in the shadow of the panther’s body, reminding us to keep hope even in the darkest of times. The artwork also pays homage to the pop culture icon ‘Black Panther’ as a symbol of strength, courage and hope.
