rajasaur

The Rajasaurus is depicted as an oblivious ruler owning the cultural narrative of its origins. Indianama 2024 brought together 42 artists to design 40 stamps based on the idea of ‘Lost & Found’ objects, concepts, and ideas. The stamps were exhibited at @methodindia in Mumbai for a limited time.

The Rajasaurus is depicted as an oblivious ruler owning the cultural narrative of its origins. The halo around the head (often depicted in miniature paintings when featuring kings and queens) doubles as a meteor that’s coming down towards earth. The extinction of the dinosaurs was believed to happen at the end of the Cretaceous period, around the same time when Rajasaurus was thriving. As the last Rajasaur contemplates the beauty of his natural kingdom, he fails to realize the consequences of the meteor. His legacy would be lost for millennia until found again in 1983.
