journey of
the birds

This visual art series is inspired from Attar’s “Conference of the birds” — a 12th century poem about a group of birds (led by Hud-Hud) who embark on an epic journey to find the legendary Simurgh. In the end, only 30 birds reach their final destination discovering that they collectively are the Simurgh (Si =30, Murgh = bird). Each bird represents a corresponding human trait (flaw / behavior) that often holds us back from reaching our full potential. It is a metaphor for the human struggle — the search for self — a core aspect of self-reflection during the 30 Days of Ramadan.

RISOGRAPH POSTCARDS

Digital activism has proven to be a powerful tool but there is something human in tangible solidarity. 100% of proceeds will go to medical aid for Palestinians.

G🔺Z🔺 is like the beloved Hud Hud calling all the scattered birds (representing us) towards a unified movement — a collective humanity — while mending the overall moral compass of the world.
